James Pollock family papers, 1738-1924.

The James Pollock papers consist of correspondence, family papers, and other documents relating to Governor Pollock's personal and professional life. The family papers mainly consist of letters to and from his wife, Sarah Pollock, 1844-1845, and to her cousin Emily, 1840; although chiefly personal in nature, the letters mention the annexation of Texas, Pollock's opinion of Presidents Polk and Tyler, and the condition of the White House. Other family papers, arranged in chronological order, include ancestral records, epitaphs, wedding invitations, and diaries of Sarah Pollock and Bolton families, 1738-1845. Additional family papers consist of newspaper clippings, 1924; an in-memoriam book, 1890; and scrapbooks, 1844-1898.
